Refurbishment – Humberside

Multiple occupancy accommodation communal areas needs to be practical and hardwearing but above all, inspiring. Working with the understanding Interior Designer, Lumen Designers managed to deliver lighting with a high level “look and feel” within a “limited budget.”

The refurbishment at Alexandra Court clearly shows that when an Interior Designer and a Lighting Designer work closely together, the results are spectacular!

This space had been used to the full by previous tenants and the décor was looking tired; however the lighting wasn’t really helping and Platform Housing wanted to ensure the current and future residents felt at home. With a fresh new colour scheme, revised layout and a totally new theme designed by Ann Swann of Spruce Interiors, we had to come up with some luminaires that gave a commercial quality performance and yet be quite grand looking whilst providing the main light source and blending in with the new theme; these were complimented with some softer aesthetics from some gold and black indirect wall lights.

Resident living standards have certainly improved as a result of this project and they have an activity space that now inspires. We hope we have helped to provide an environment to improve the lives of those who will frequent the new lounge! Download the Spruce project review pdf here.
