Refurbishment

Student accommodation needs to be practical and hardwearing but above all, inspiring. The refurbishment at Denmark Road clearly shows that when an Interior Designer, a Lighting Designer and Contractor work closely together the results are worthy of honours!

This space had been used to the full by previous students and the décor was looking tired; however the lighting wasn’t really helping and Sanctuary Housing wanted to ensure the next residents felt at home. With a lively colour scheme, revised layout and a totally new theme designed by Diana Celella of The Drawing Room Interiors, we had to come up with some luminaires that gave a commercial quality performance and yet be unobtrusive whilst providing the main light source; these were complimented with some softer aesthetics from thick glass and wire frame pendants.

Student living standards have certainly improved as a result of this project and they have an activity space worthy of our future leaders. We hope we have helped to provide an environment to inspire our next generation; they are our future and we need them to be successful and also become an inspiration to those that follow!
